On November 15,2021, the School of Management and Economics organized a seminar on category training at 317 in the main building. Xiao Xuan, Vice Minister of Academic Affairs, Vice Minister Chen Hao, and Assistant Minister Ma Xu attended the meeting for guidance. Vice Dean Professor zhang Xiang, Associate Professor Wang YueHui, Director of the undergraduate teaching center, Professor Zhao Erdong, Liu Pingqing, Gao Huiying, Liu Jianchang, Zhao yuhuan, Xiao Shufang, Cui Lixin, Guan Lei and backbone teachers attended the seminar.The meeting was presided over by Vice Dean Zhang Xiang.
Vice Dean Zhang Xiang first welcomed the arrival of the leaders of the Office of Academic Affairs, and then introduced the undergraduate education situation of the School of Management and Economics. The category training mainly involves two categories of economics and management training for first and second year undergraduate students. Through the construction of platform, the school provides general basic classes to both the economics and management students. And through the introduction of engineering advantage curriculum module and national defense characteristic curriculum module, management + engineering integration, and pairing each student with an academic mentor at the time of admission, the school implements the student-centered school philosophy to meet the needs of the students' different growth as far as possible.
